OpenAI’s ChatGPT App Can Now Search the Web but Only via Bing

OpenAI, the world’s premier AI startup, said that ChatGPT Plus, its premium version, now has a new function that allows it to search the web for solutions using Microsoft Bing.

This feature allows ChatGPT to obtain the most recent data in order to deliver answers to user queries that go beyond the model’s original training data.

The browsing functionality is accessible on both the iOS and Android versions of the ChatGPT app.

To enable browsing, navigate to the New Features section within the application settings. Then, in the model switcher, choose “GPT-4” and select “Browse with Bing” from the provided drop-down menu.

The company release also stated that the mobile ChatGPT app will have Improved search history, allowing for quick navigation to relevant parts of the conversation.

Apple IDs Now Support Passkey

Passkeys have been added to Apple IDs for beta users of iOS/iPadOS 17 and macOS Sonoma. Users can now authenticate themselves on various platforms using biometric features, eliminating the need for traditional passwords. It offers a convenient and streamlined access method beyond Apple.com and icloud.com.

Besides Apple properties, this feature enables passwordless login for websites that offer “Sign in with Apple.” For sites supporting passkeys like PayPal, Shopify, and Kayak, you can quickly sign up by scanning a QR code with your iPhone.

Passkeys are synchronized across multiple devices after they are established. Synchronization requires signing in with a shared Apple ID on existing devices.
